Sublime Photography is getting a new name!

After much deliberation and umming and aahing - I am finally changing the name of Sublime Photography.

Originally I started with Sublime design & photo which is my freelance company which offers graphic design & photography. The reason I use this name for my freelance work, is that it best sums up what I do and from the get go people know what services I offer. I am still keeping the new brand under this name, but I would like to personalise it and create a brand and a name for myself.

Therefore, the new photography brand will be called, Mikayla Birkholtz Photography


I know it may seem confusing at first, but I think that it is the best way forward and I hope that people who visit this blog will understand. The whole point is to get my name out there, in a way that it is not generic, like Sublime photography. Seeing as though my name is pretty unique, I thought I should give it a bash.

Also, there are many exciting projects on the go at the moment, so keep your eyes peeled for some new images :)

Sublime Photoshop Workshop l September 2011

The next Sublime Basic Photoshop Workshop is taking place on saturday the 10th September from 9am - 2pm. The workshop fee is R300 with a non-refundable deposit of R150 is required to book your spot. Workshop notes, refreshments and a CD trial of Photoshop are included in the fee.

Kirstenbosch Family Fun l Pelser Family Sneak Peak

These are just a few sneak peaks at the images from the family shoot with Claire and Shawn and their 3 beautiful children. Drew absolutely adores the camera and loves posing, which was very entertaining! Levi & Sage (the twins) are almost a year old and are so happy :) What a joy!

A Lovely Cape Town view*

This photo was taken about a week ago while we were away for the "long weekend". We spent a lovely weekend with friends in Boulders, just outside Simonstown. This was the view we woke up to and marvelled at all day. What an awesome weekend!


I took this shot when it was already dark, (Approx 7.30pm) but I changed the camera settings to get this shot...
Shutter speed: 20 secs
Aperture: F22
ISO: 100
